News: Multisport Association of Russia will present the project Russian Games Open at SportAccord Multisport Association of Russia (of sports federations recognized IOC and other sports, not included in the Olympic Games program) will be presented at the international convention SportAccord.
The secretary general of AMSR, Alexey Kylasov, will conduct a meeting with Jan Fransoo, the ARISF President, during which they are going to discuss prospects of the interaction between the international association and the ones of Russia and Belarus.
Establishing Belarusian Association was the initiative of Russia. The proposal to create the association in Belarus was supported at the international seminar «Cooperation priorities of Russia and Belarus in the sphere of physical training and sport» that was held in Minsk on February, 8 in 2006. Belarusian government invited Alexey Kylasov, the secretary general of MAR, Irina Rodnina, the head of «Sport Russia», and Nikolay Borovkov, the deputy head of the Department for international and regional contacts of the Federal Agency on Physical Culture and Sport, to participate in the seminar.
At the end of the seminar the Minister for Sport of Belarus, Alexander Grigorov, emphasized the necessity of a closer contact with Russia in the sphere of international sport relations. The head of Belarusian Olympic Committee (BOC), Alexander Medved, declared the entire support of creating in BOC the Association of the recognized sport disciplines.
At SportAccord Alexey Kylasov announce for the first time the idea of holding in Russia regular sport competitions – Russian Games Open. Similar to the World Games – Russian Games Open will be held once in two years in different cities of the country. The competitions will be held among those who manage to take places from the first to the tenth at the World and Russian Championships.
Making comments at the topic of the report Alexey Kylasov noticed, “It is not by chance that we present the project Russian games Open at SportAccord because a lot of members of ARISF at the same time hold membership in IWGA. Besides, IWGA President, Ron Froelich is the honorary president of ARISF”.
The presentation of such project totally corresponds to the spirit of the convention SportAccord. More than 700 delegates from all over the world will take part in the conference, which will take place in Korean capital Seoul, in hotel Grand Intercontinental from 3 till 7 April. The organizations of the conference are the Association General of the International Sport Federations (AGFIS), the Association of Summer Olympic Sports Federations (ASOIF), the Association of Winter Olympic Sports Federations (AOIWF), and the Association of Sport Federations Recognized by the IOC (ARISF).
More than 60 cities, federations and commercial organizations will be presented at the convention. At the same time a regular executive committee will take place in the neighboring hotel COEX. Among the reporter there are a lot of famous persons: representatives of world and national federations, active workers of the IOC, businessmen.
Among the speakers there is also the president of the International Para Olympic Committee Phillip Craven, the secretary general of the International Archery Federation (FITA) Tom Dilen, the Head of Rugby World Cup of the International Rugby Union Keat McConnell, the secretary general of the International Basketball Association (FIBA) Patrick Baumann, the vice-presindent of the organizational committee of the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008 Yang Shuang and others.
Sarah Lewis, the secretary general of the International Federation of Mountain-Skiing (FIS), noticed, “SportAccord is a perfect opportunity to exchange information and experience with the representatives of other federations, learn about various innovations and meet potential sponsors”.
