News: The Multisport Association of Russia signed a Memorandum with the TAFISA  In Busan (Korea) on August, 23 2007 the Memorandum of Understanding between the Multisport Association of Russia and the Trim and Fitness International Sport for All Association (TAFISA) was signed.
The TAFISA President Dr Rhee Shang-Hi (Korea) and the secretary general of the Multisport Association of Russia Alexey Kylasov, in the presence of the vice-president of the Multisport Association of Russia Sergey Eliseev and the IOC Sport for All Commission member Chang Ju-Ho (Korea) signed the Memorandum in the course of the special ceremony of the Invitation of the IV World Games TAFISA Sport for All held under the patronage by the IOC which will be organized in Busan (Korea) in 2008.
The TAFISA officials, the IOC members, representatives of sport federations, mass media and politics were present at the ceremony. The MoU confirms the exclusive right of the Multisport Association of Russia to represent Russia at the World Games TAFISA Sport for All. The most significant point of the MoU is the one according to which Russia has gained the right to present the national Russian sports at the World Games.
The objective of the World Games TAFISA Sport for All is to collect all the information about the available and popular sports all over the world, and thus, to protect this incredible cultural heritage. At present the TAFISA members have collected about 500 traditional games, dances and competitions over the world.
The Multisport Association of Russia, uniting the national sports among which there are sambo-wrestling, gorodki sport, bandy, bat, giri sport and others – is striving for the popularization of these sports. One can hardly imagine a better platform for it than the World Games TAFISA Sport for All under the patronage by the IOC. The main achievement of the signed MoU is the agreement of organizing the Russian Games TAFISA Sport for All which include the competition in the North polyathlon of the Northern Peoples, Kalmykian Jangariade and others.
It is necessary to emphasize that the Multisport Association of Russia has acquired the right to represent some of these competitions at the IV World Games TAFISA Sport for All which will take place in Busan (Korea) on September, 26 – October, 2 in 2008.
