| For the first time Russian national team participated in the World Wrestling Games FILA
On September, 9 – 11 2009 the 4th World Wrestling Games organized by the International Federation of Associated Wrestling Styles (FILA) took place. Russian National team participated in this multi-sports event of non-Olympic wrestling for the first time. All our 8 sportsmen who participated in 3 out of 6 kinds of wrestling won medals. | 
| New TAFISA president is Lee Kang-Too who worked at Republic of Korea embassy in Russia for 5 years
On September, 3 – 7 2009 in Taiwan capital Taipei City there took place the 21st Congress of the International Association “Sport for All” (TAFISA) during which the General Assembly and Directors Board election was held. Lee Kang-Too was elected new TAFISA president who replaced his compatriot Rhee Sang-Hi. |
